AB	En de buurvrouwen gaven hem een naam en zeiden: "Bij Naomi is een zoon geboren" en zij gaven hem de naam Obed. Die de vader is van Isaï, David's vader.
SV	En de naburinnen gaven hem een naam, zeggende: Aan Naomi is een zoon geboren; en zij noemden zijn naam Obed; deze is de vader van Isai, Davids vader.

Trans.	watiqəre’nâ lwō haššəḵēnwōṯ šēm lē’mōr yullaḏ-bēn lənā‘ŏmî watiqəre’nâ šəmwō ‘wōḇēḏ hû’ ’ăḇî-yišay ’ăḇî ḏāwiḏ:

AC	יז ותקראנה לו השכנות שם לאמר ילד בן לנעמי ותקראנה שמו עובד הוא אבי ישי אבי דוד {פ}
ASV	And the women her neighbors gave it a name, saying, There is a son born to Naomi; and they called his name Obed: he is the father of Jesse, the father of David.
BE	And the women who were her neighbours gave it a name, saying, Naomi has a child; and they gave him the name of Obed: he is the father of Jesse, the father of David.
